HOW YOU CAN HELP
The projects you have read about on this site represent a significant and long-term commitment to preserving Jefferson County's heritage. Despite our dedication these projects will not succeed without additional financial and volunteer support.

The Jefferson County Historic Landmarks Commission operates under the authority granted to landmarks commissions by the West Virginia legislature. The Landmarks Commission focuses on heritage education, historic preservation, historic resource development, and research to preserve historic structures within the unincorporated areas of Jefferson County.  As a branch of Jefferson County government we are tax exempt and cash contributions are fully deductible.

HOW WILL MY CONTRIBUTION BE USED?
Contributions not designated for a specific purpose will be added to the operating account for recurring expenses such as; utilities, insurance, maintenance Peter Burr Farm and Snow Hill/Poor Farm, restoration of the buildings and grounds, and other projects listed on our Plans and Projects page.

VOLUNTEERING
If you can not contribute money consider donating your time. Volunteers are needed to help with maintenance at Peter Burr Farm, work in the gardens, leading an interpretive program, work in the archives, or conducting research.
